In the end, the fan group known as 100,000 Strong For Mega Man Legends 3 was not able to convince Capcom to resume development of the one Mega Man game that diehards had been waiting positively an eternity for. But, they were able to convince many of their own to pool their resources and talents to create a game of their own.
One that is called Servbot Roundup. The Unity based browser game allows one to assume the mantle of Barrett (the lead from the Mega Man Legends 3 prototype) as he drives around Teomo City, collecting Servbots throughout.
There are three levels in total, and is admittedly a bit on the rudimentary side of things. Controls are also difficult to grasp, but on the plus side, the visuals are top notch and it has online leader boards.
Some have wondered if Capcom would ever be interested in taking the fan effort and lending a bit of assistance, perhaps in terms of polish and marketing. Which would have been a frankly dumb question to ponder, if not for them embracing Street Fighter X Mega Man.
