Team Meat (Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes, creators of indie hit Super Meat Boy) has a new blog post about its upcoming game (for iOS and other platforms) Mew-Genics. This tenth teaser for the game – which we still know very little about – seems to reveal that one of the features included will be the option to enter your in-game cat into a pageant run by one of the main characters, Mr. Tinkles:
Are you ready to win your 1st kitty tiara? Do you think you have what it takes to take home the boon county crown? how rare is your cat? does she have forked tail? how about a horn? *does she randomly take dumps all over the place? if so its probably time to enter Mr. Tinkles annual Boon county cat pageant!
(*points will be deducted for cats that crap on the stage)
Judging from the title of the game (which sounds a lot like “eugenics”, the principle of changing a population through genetic screening) and an earlier mention from the team of 12,207,031,250,000,000,000,000 different possible combinations of physical traits for felines in the game, it looks like Mew-Genics will see players breed cats for a variety of potential purposes, one of which is to enter them in these pageants.
It certainly sounds different, but will it be a hit?
