The UK video game charts for the last week of 2012 are in, and Far Cry 3 has taken the lead. The popular open world shooter has pushed Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which had several consecutive weeks at number one, down to number three, where it sits below a consistently highly positioned FIFA 13.
As we said yesterday, Ubisoft has done incredibly well this year, and this chart reflects that. The company has three titles in the top ten: along with Far Cry 3 at number one, Just Dance 4 is still going strong at number six, and Assassin's Creed III is sitting comfortably at number eight.
The rest of the top ten come from a variety of publishers, though Microsoft has two titles in Halo 4 at number seven and Forza Horizon taking tenth place. Hitman Absolution and Need for Speed Most Wanted will surprise nobody with their positioning at numbers four and five respectively, but it's good to see the quality of LEGO The Lord of the Rings reflected in sales figures as it makes it to number nine.
