Square Enix has unveiled new details about Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix, which is set for release on March 14, 2013 in Japan on the PlayStation 3.
The game is set to incorporate both Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Re: Chain of Memories, as well as a collection of HD remastered cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days within the collection’s Theater Mode. 358/2 Days was originally planned to be a part of the HD Remix, but was later scrapped due to time constraints. It will remain in the form of the aforementioned cutscenes.
In addition to high definition graphics and trophy support, a number of huge improvements are being made for the remastered version of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. The newer, and highly detailed character models developed for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be used to replace the base characters throughout the game. Cutscenes that were previously unvoiced will also be given spoken dialog this time around.
Combat is also being improved, with features such as “combo master” from KHII making their way into Final Mix. Likewise, the camera is also being retooled with the improvements from the more recent Kingdom Hearts titles.
The studio says that all of the cutscenes are being remastered for “more expressive” choreography.
