Fez, the puzzle platformer that will no doubt make many best of 2012 lists when all is said and done is currently a Xbox 360 exclusive, much to the chagrin of many. Primarily those who are PS3 or PC loyalists.
And they've long wondered when it would make the leap to their platform of choice, if ever. Well, no date has been given, but at least we know that it's happening after-all. In an end of the year post, the game's creator, Phil Fish, states the following:
2011 was also crazy, but 2012 somehow managed to completely out-crazy it.
We experienced abyssal lows, but also life-affirming highs. Life-changing highs.Really, really high highs. It took everything but we shipped the fucking thing. And it was a success.
It didnt break any records, but it made more than enough to let me keep doing what i do. So im afraid you’re stuck with me for a little while longer…
… 2012 was crazy.
But what now?
2013 is going to be an interesting one, too.
For one, FEZ will finally be ported to other platforms.
Yes, i’ve heard you, dozens of people emailing me everyday telling me how much of an idiot i am for not porting FEZ to everything…
Fish also notes that he has plans for the soundtrack that he promises to be exciting, and how there might be a US branch of his studio (which at the moment is just one person, just Fish himself).
