Joakim Mogren, the "Head CEO" of Moby Dick Studiod, and Swedish alter ego of Hideo Kojima, has just released an "Alternate Version" of The Phantom Pain debut trailer, which was the talk of Spike's 2012 VGAs. What's different exactly? The audio:
It's hard to tell initially, but the music is somewhat different. Some might consider it a downgrade of sorts. Whereas the original soundtrack was high on mood and atmosphere (as well as the wub-wub), this one take sounds more like a typical action flick from Hollywood. Which, alas, Kojima is totally a fan of.
Though the main addition is how there's additional voice acting. Like hearing the one person beg for his life, before getting denied, as well as the everyone in that group shot, who all scream as they too are murdered.
Otherwise, there are no real changes. A side-by-side comparison does not reveal anything new on the visual front, though I highly encourage everyone to give it a go themselves anyway.
Perhaps I simply missed something? In fact, I'm sure of it. This is Metal Gear Solid V we’re talking about.
