As Gamescom inches closer, studios big and small are whetting our appetites with new IPs, tournaments, and the chance to try out unreleased games. It sounds like it’s going to be a doozy. Indie team Okomotive will be there with a pre-alpha version of FAR: Lone Sails, its gorgeously bleak debut that lets you navigate through a dried-out sea.
Different obstacles and unstable weather conditions will colour your journey, and to stay afloat, managing your ship is key; you’ll get the chance to explore your surroundings for clues, solve puzzles, follow the echoes of a forgotten civilisation, and while you’re there, fawn over the lavishly stylised vistas. Footage of the pre-alpha version of FAR: Lone Sails released some months ago, and showcases the general gameplay. As for the final destination? Okomotive is leaving that up to you to find out.
FAR: Lone Sails has a projected release date of 2018. Both PC and console versions are in the works. Interested folks can put it on their Steam wish list today.
