New details regarding the third proper installment of Dead Space is starting to make the rounds, some of which we've already covered. But here's a new tidbit, courtesy of Destructoid: the game will feature Kinect functionality.
Basic voice commands will be supported, like "Find partner," "Fire stasis," and "Attack enemy". Steve Papoutsis, of Visceral Games, explains:
"The voice commands in Dead Space 3 give players a unique way to take down the terror, whether they choose to face the Necromorphs alone in single-player, or alongside a friend with drop-in / drop-out co-op.
Dead Space 3 delivers the action-horror experience our fans have come to know and love. And with the ability to survive the adventure alone, with a friend, or with Kinect, we’re excited about extending the spine-tingling Dead Space experience to a whole new audience of players."
Using the Kinect will supposedly make it easier to revive your fallen partner, give them heath and ammo, plus find objects. Given there has been much concern about Dead Space 3 not being as scary as its predecessors, it's actually somewhat of a relief to know that it'll be borrowing a classic staple of horror movies. And that's screaming at the your TV.
