All GTA diehards know already that every locale depicted in each game… primarily Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas… all co-exist on the same virtual earth. For example, in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, you actually get to visit where Grant Theft Auto 3 takes place, at least for a tiny bit.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a game in which every inch of Rockstar's imaginary real estate is traversable, in one single package? Turns out, they want something like that too. When Digital Trends asked Leslie Benzies, of Rockstar North, about the possibility of Vice City making an eventual return:
"It is always a possibility. There are a few references to the city in our current-gen GTAs so it is part of that HD universe, and it is certainly somewhere we would love to revisit…
Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas, and in that context reimagining Vice City would be very interesting."
Now, it's a splendid idea, and we're certainly glad that Rockstar has thought of it, but given how much time and energy (and money, presumably) is being spent on just the return of San Andreas, no one is holding their breath for this king of GTA games.
But if it happens, it would also be nice to see the school from Bully also make an appearance. Just because.
