The “Little Big Bunch” from Get Games is back, with “Little Big Bunch 2”. Unlike, for example, the various Humble Bundles, you don't get to choose your own price for this one, but you do get to pick which from a selection of games you actually want. For £6, half of which goes to developers and half of which goes to GamesAid, you can choose five out of a list of ten games, so you can make sure you're only paying for stuff you'll actually play. Here are your choices:
Archon Classic is a remake of Archon, toted as the game that “defined the Action/Strategy genre back in 1983”. A board game much like chess or checkers makes up the strategy part, but if one of your pieces meets one of your opponent's, you head to the combat arena for action.
Dark Scavenger is an adventure game that includes both point-and-click mechanics and turn-based combat. You play a “powerful space traveller” who is stranded on a mysterious planet and soon gets swept up in the conflict in which its inhabitants are embroiled.
Disciples II: Rise of the Elves is the entry that brought elves to the fantasy strategy series. You have to build up a city, build up an army and resources, and head into battle.
Grotesque Tactics is a satirical RPG that follows ten anti-heroes on an adventure to protect the kingdom from a cult called “The Dark Church”.
Serious Sam: The Random Encounter doesn't really need much of an explanation, but for those who've never played one of these games before expect to shoot a lot of aliens.
Space Colony HD is a management game in which you build up a base on an alien world while looking after a variety of colonists, each with a unique personality.
To-Fu 1 and 2 involve stretching and pinging To-Fu around hundreds of levels, trying to avoid obstacles.
The Trouble with Robots is a “side-scrolling customisable card game” in which you build up decks of spells and creatures to defeat troops of robots.
Unstoppable Gorg is a tower defence game set in space, inspired by old sci-fi films.
Worms Reloaded is, naturally, one of the more recent episodes in the long series of turn-based warfare Worms games.
You'll either get a steam code or a DRM-free download for each of the games you choose. Think you can spot five you might like?
