The development of Company of Heroes 2 remains steady at Relic, and its developers have released the first ever dev diary for the game to talk about the setting and significance of the game.
In this developer diary, dubbed "Preparing for War", the game's producer Greg Wilson, senior lead animator Brett Pascal, and lead campaign designer Jasen Torres touch upon the gameplay elements that allow Company of Heroes 2 to stand out amongst the crowd.
Company of Heroes 2 is the sequel of the highest rated RTS of all time, and is set in 1941 at the beginning of what is to become the most brutal conflict of World War II, as the Nazis invade the Soviet Union and pay for each step they take with the deaths of countless men on both sides. In the game, players will take control of the Soviet Red Army to fight across the front lines and free Russia from the Nazis.
Company of Heroes 2 will be out in early 2013 for the PC. It's also one of our most wanted strategy games of 2013, in a forthcoming list we plan to publish this week.
