In trying to verify the news that if you have a Dead Space save file you will have the original plasma cutter tool unlocked in Dead Space 2 I found myself going all over the web. The story came to my attention at Destructoid, which cited joystick, which cited a twitter account, who cited a Gamespot forum post that cited the @deadspace twitter feed, who had just retweeted and thanked Destructoid for publishing the news. So it's confirmed I guess.
