Resident Evil 6 First Major DLC Lands in December for the Xbox 360, Adds Three New Modes

December 5, 2012 by Alex Co

Capcom has detailed the first hefty add-on content coming for Resident Evil 6 fans! Read on for details.

Capcom has announced the first major content drop for Resident Evil 6 and it will let players take on the role of an Ustanak! As part of the publsher's deal with Microsoft which was announced at this year's E3, the DLC will be a timed-exclusive for the Xbox 360 and is set for release on December 18.

While no date has been given for PS3 and Resident Evil 6 fans, there will be a free and hefty title update for all versions which will contain the following:

  • A new option allowing players to adust the in-game camera to get a greater field of view
  • A new option allowing you to combine English language audio with subtitles in other languages
  • An optional, player-controlled co-op partner for the Ada campaign
  • The extremely challenging No Hope Left difficulty mode

Now that's out of the way, here's what Xbox 360 fans can expect with the DLC. The content featured below consists of three new multiplayer modes and they are: Predator, Survivors and Onslaught. Each mode can be purchased separately for 320 Microsoft Points, or as a bundle for 720 MS Points.

Predator – Available for two to six players, in Predator one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players.  The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.

Survivors – Survivors takes the classic solo and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down one human character to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins. Survivors can be played by two to six players.

Onslaught – Onslaught sees two players go head-to-head in an attempt to clear waves of oncoming enemies. Chaining combos provides the key to success in Onslaught as this will send enemies over to the opponent’s screen, the more that are sent over, the quicker the victory will be.

While Resident Evil 6 fans might be expecting its first content drop to be related to the game's main story, adding in a few more multiplayer modes isn't that bad seeing as the game really is trying to be a hybrid shooter of sorts.

Any RE6 fans excited for this or do you prefer content that's related to the main story arc?
