After a 12-day wait that will have seemed much longer for some fans, the Wii U is finally available in Europe and Australia. Now, we too can get our hands on games like Nintendo Land, ZombiU, and New Super Mario Bros. U. The latter title even has a brand new launch trailer especially for us, which doesn't quite make up for the delay between launch in the U.S. and elsewhere but is still a nice gesture.
Mario is back and he's now in HD, we're told, but the trailer doesn't just rely on the fact that people will buy any game with Mario in it; it's actually quite a good summary of all of the new features the Wii U version has to offer. We get to see the little creatures that can inflate themselves to lift Mario hot air balloon style, or shoot bubbles from their mouths. We're given a glimpse at the extra challenges featured in the game. And, of course, we're shown what the GamePad can do here, with a few demonstrations of several players working together in the kind of synchronisation that can surely never happen in real life.
Europeans, Australians, will you be picking up your copy today?
