The Final Cover To Nintendo Power Pays Tribute To The Very First One

November 30, 2012 by Matt Hawkins

It’s a more than fitting way for the beloved game magazine to bow out.

The final issue ever of Nintendo Power, one of the longest running video game magazines in North America, is set to hit newsstands in just a few. And many have been wondering how the publication will be going out. Turns out, it'll be doing so in style.

The cover was recently leaked on the internet, via Twitter, which Kotaku just republished. As one can see, it bares a more than passing similarity to the very first edition, which Kotaku also decided to post, side by the side.

It's a sad to see the magazine go, which despite being purely dedicated to all things Nintendo, managed to maintain a very high standards and integrity; it called a spade a spade, even if it was published by Nintendo themselves.

But if you're going to do one last cover, that's the way to do it.
