Halo 4 Ordnance Drop Locations for Slayer Maps

November 19, 2012

These maps will help you get to the ordnances in Halo 4’s Slayer maps before your enemies do.

Ordnance drops are a major part of Halo 4’s Infinity Multiplayer, which is split between the co-op Spartan Ops and the competitive War Games modes. During the course of these games, drop pods can deploy ordnance into the field which provide nearby players with the weapons and power-ups for use against their enemies. During War Games, Spartans can even call in their own ordnance.

These ordnance drops can help a team to turn the tide of battle in Halo 4. While they aren’t overpowered, they can certainly give a team the necessary edge to take on their opponents.

Each War Games map has a number of designated locations for ordnance drops to appear. These locations will be marked on the heads-up display of all nearby players when the ordnance is active.

Skitrel of the freehugshalo community on Reddit has put together maps of all the Slayer maps with all initial and random ordnance drops marked. He also plans to chart out the maps for Dominion maps “out in a day or so” as of this posting.

He wrote the following: “Abandon and Solace seem the most solid maps in terms of lack of randomness, these 2 maps can have very solid setups that make getting the important drops easy, I believe map control here still exists strongly. On Adrift the two gravjumps with the random drops appear to be the most beneficial staging area for doing anything, you've got the most chance to get to any outer-map drops from here. If I were to suggest a strategy for adrift it would probably be to have a long range sensor team member and a long range ordnance team member set up here, they can see where enemies are coming from at range as well as see ordnance drops at range, the grav jumps make getting to those drops or going offensive against incoming enemies extremely quick. Even better, a full team of 4 could set up in this location, wait for the enemy to enter the corridor then have two members grav jump while the 2 others engage, the 2 that entered the grav jump are now at the enemy's back making retreating to cover impossible and cutting them down easy.

“Haven is interesting, those binary rifles are completely necessary to keep an eye out for as they're a guarantee of 6 kills when they drop. Scattershot is OP on this map, people chasing you down to finish off their kills fall incredibly easily to it, if you can get it as well as a speedboost you're a death machine, I've had multiple overkills so far as a result of that.”
