Fuse Shows Lots of Guns in New Screenshots

November 14, 2012 by Jordan Erica Webber

Fuse is looking pretty gritty – are you still interested?

Fuse, the upcoming game from Insomniac Games, has a new website and some new screenshots to go with it. One cool feature of the site is a little character overview animation at the bottom of the page. Each of the four characters is shown in turn with his or her own version of the secret alien tech (“Fuse” and one other ingredient), as well as two experimental weapons. The game is class-based, so each Overstrike 9 agent will have his or her own unique skills, which obviously lends itself well to co-op play.

As for the screenshots, well, there's a lot of orange, grey, and brown, which does make the game look a lot more similar to its FPS counterparts than Ovesrtrike – its original name, before it took on this new, more serious feel – did. But besides the running, gunning, and explosions, if you look closely you can also see hints of what will make Fuse that little bit more unique. In one shot, for example, Naya Deveraux – a stealth character – sneaks up behind a firing line with her legs somehow made invisible.

What do you think of Fuse, and the new look emphasised in these screenshots? Will you be getting it when it comes out in March next year?
