It’s been a long, long time since we’ve heard anything remotely pertaining to Dead Island 2, which is why one user at eurogamer decided to message Deep Silver and ask them what the hell is up with their game.
This was their response:
“Dead Island 2 is in development at Sumo Digital, and we are excited by the progress the team are making with Deep Silver’s most successful IP. When we are ready to share more information, we will.”
Since it’s first announcement of the title coming to consoles and PC spring 2015, the original studios in charge of development, Yager, went through a rough patch, stating that its vision for the game had “fallen out of alignment” with Deep Silver. The developer was forced to file for bankruptcy shortly after.
Last year Deep Silver announced that Sumo Digital would be taking over development but left it at that.
Hopefully, we will be able to receive some form of solid information pertaining to the title at this year’s E3. If not fans will have to either stick to the first-person free-running title, Dying light, or move onto the upcoming 3rd person zombie shooter, Days Gone, which currently, seems to be shaping up as one of this year’s most anticipated titles.
