If you’re like me, you’re bored to tears by golf. If golf and video games excites you instead, you might be thrilled by the fact that Take-Two has recently trademarked Links. Links was a big golf series back in the 90s, starting in 1990 in fact. The last game was on the original Xbox back in 2003, aptly titled Links 2003. Take-Two Interactive purchased the series from Microsoft back in 2004 but has never done anything with the franchise until now.
All we know right now—courtesy of internet extraordinaire superannuation—is that they have trademarked the title. It can be noted that this may be similar to Top Spin 4, another sports franchise that Take-Two gave to 2K Czech to make. We’ll see where it goes, but it’s always good to see publishers making new franchises, as they create more jobs in an ailing games industry.
