343 Industries has put together a new video showing the first season of Spartan Ops for Halo 4. For those not in the know, Spartan Ops is the game’s cooperative multiplayer campaign which is set six months after the events of Halo 4’s single player campaign with the Master Chief.
“Your new workplace is a planet called Requiem,” begins the trailer. “Some of the old hands know what you’re in for. The rest of you, you’re due an education.”
The trailer goes on to showcase what you’ll be in for, ranging from vehicular missions and those where Spartans will have to take on their enemies on foot.
In Spartan Ops, you’ll be able to participate in a host of missions with your friends or strangers online. These missions will be released in weekly batches of five, lasting a total of ten weeks per season—or 50 missions. The first season will be available for free, included in the retail purchase of Halo 4. Assuming the program is successful—and we’ve no reason to doubt that it will be—players can expect to see more seasons further down the line.
Halo 4 is set for release on November 6. It’s exclusive to the Xbox 360.
