Rockstar Games celebrates the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with details on the upcoming mobile release of the game.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released on October 29, 2002 and expanded upon the success of the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto 3. The game took the series out of the confines of the New York-inspired Liberty City and brought it to Vice City, a city inspired by Miami and the movie Scarface. The game pushed the series deeper into popular culture with a satirical look at the excesses of the 1980s.
Rockstar has announced plans to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary through a release of commemorative assets, including unreleased artwork and a brand new anniversary trailer showcasing the game's most iconic scenes and music. Additionally, Rockstar will also be putting out a limited run of collectibles through its online store, the Rockstar Warehouse, and give away some of the items on Twitter and Facebook.
The studio is also taking the opportunity to announce an Anniversary Edition of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for the iOS and Android, which is set for release later this fall. The new edition of the game is sad to bring "the full experience" to mobile devices, and include native high-resolution graphics and enhancements unique to the platforms.
If that's not enough to fuel your anticipation for Grand Theft Auto V, we don't know what is.
