Bethesda has just sent us word that they plan to release three expansion packs for Dishonored, beginning with the Dunwall City Trials. The expansion pack will be made available on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for $4.99 (or 400 MS Points) this December.
The Dunwall City Trials will include 10 challenge maps that are set to test and track your combat, stealth, and mobility skills. Ten distinct trials will await challenges—including an arena battle against waves of enemies, a gravity-defying run of drop- assassinations, and a race against time.
Players who compete the Dunwall City Trials will be able to unlock a whole new set of achievements and trophies and participate in a global online leaderboard to compete against friends and strangers.
Additionally, Bethesda says that the second and third add-ons for Dishonored will each be coming in 2013 and will feature story-driven campaigns.
The first story-driven add-on will focus on Daud, the leader of a group of supernatural assassins called "The Whalers". This expansion pack is scheduled for release in early Spring 2013 and will see Corvo make his way through new locations in Dunwall and discover Daud's own set of weapons, powers and gadgets. You will be forced to make choices and how you play throughout the missions will impact the final outcome.
Additional details on the third expansion pack will be revealed next year.
