While it's normal for most games these days to get special editions aside from their standard retail release, Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: The Game's Collector's Edition might just be one of the best ones I've seen yet.
So what makes this Collector's Edition stand out from the pack? Well, there's no zombie plushie or anything similar; but what it has instead is The Walking Dead: Compendium One bundled with the game. For those who've never bought the graphic novels, this is a steal as Compendium One — which contains the series' first 48 issues — normally retails for $59.99 alone. Did I mention that it even has an exclusive Charlie Adlard cover art?
Here's what the Collector's Edition contains:
-
A disc containing all five episodes of the game
-
The Walking Dead Compendium One (which normally retails for $59.99 and includes the first 48 issues) with exclusive Charlie Adlard cover art
-
A Collector’s Edition box featuring Charlie Adlard artwork
Now here's the bad news. This Collector's Edition will be a GameStop exclusive and will only be available for people who pre-order. If I were you, I'd jump at the chance to get the full game and Compendium One at that price.
Both The Walking Dead: The Game Collector and Standard Editions will be available on December 4 and as seen above, will be priced $69.99 and $29.99 respectively.
The last chapter in the game's first season — Episode 5: No Time Left — is slated to hit in November for the usual $4.99 price point.
Anyone planning on pre-ordering the Collector's Edition for the almost free graphic novel?
Thanks, IGN
