In news that would delight Overwatch fans and anybody fond of spiders, Widowmaker has just made her debut in the Overwatch hero statue lineup, following the likes of the Reaper and Tracer. Widowmaker is currently available through the Blizzard Gear website for a price of $150 USD.
Each statue is individually hand-painted with measurements of 13.5″ (floor to head) and a base spanning a diameter of 7.5″. Pre-orders are available now with a limit of two statues per customer. The release of Widowmaker coincides with Blizzard Entertainment officially announcing a new line of premium statues, replicas and artwork known as Blizzard Collectibles, which will be directly created by the company. Vice President of Global Consumer Products Matthew Beecher explained that Blizzard’s collectible range enables the company to share its vision with gamers across the globe:
“We tend to go all-in when it comes to representing the things we’re passionate about in our work, and that’s exactly what we’re doing with this new line of high-end statues, replicas, and artwork…Our goal with Blizzard Collectibles is to produce pieces of art that capture the personality of our games, and we’re excited to share these premium items with gamers and collectors worldwide.”
There are more Blizzard Collectibles being planned for release in 2017. Seems fitting – there are a lot more Overwatch heroes waiting for their chance to shine. Who do you want to see immortalised next? Let us know in the comments!
