Sony announced today on their PlayStation Blog that they would not be releasing the recently overhauled PlayStation Store in United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. The new store was released in Australia, New Zealand and "several countries in Europe" earlier this week, but it is not operating as smoothly as Sony would like.
While they didn't give any details, Sony said there has been "some issues that caused inconvenience for users" though they've "already solved many of these issues". We have heard of issues of slow navigation and issues with adding funds to PSN accounts however.
Sony claimed their reason for post posting the October 23rd launch wanted to be "certain that you have an exceptional experience with the new store". They have not given a new release date yet, and ask that users be patient while they work out the kinks.
The new PlayStation store features a slick new interface that takes full advantage of the PS3's HD capabilities. You can check out a video showing off the new PS Store below.
