We've known for awhile that Sleeping Dogs would be receiving a slate of story-driven expansions post-release. We now have fresh details about what exactly these expansions will entail.
"Nightmare in the North" is planned as the first story-driven expansion DLC for the game, and is set to drop on October 30. According to Kotaku which broke the news, the expansion will be horror-themed and is said to be comparable to the Undead Nightmare expansion for Red Dead Redemption in both its length and theme.
“With the DLC, we feel we can explore other aspects of Hong Kong cinema,” United Front developers said. The campaign will tell the story of a former Triad member who is killed and raised along with an undead army.
Players once again take on the role of Wei Shen, Sleeping Dogs' protagonist, who must deal with the zombie Triads and fight them with the aid of a new Lightning Fists ability, which is granted by magical tea. He can also beat them up with a peach wood sword, a weapon traditionally used to fight the undead in Chinese mythology.
The DLC has not been priced as of yet, but it shouldn't cost too much.
