For Honor: All Knights Campaign Collectibles [Breakables / Observables]

For Honor isn’t just about cutting down your enemies — it’s also about busting open collectible breakables, and staring at environmental observables. Those are the kinda-awkward titles for the collectibles in Ubisoft’s sword-on-sword melee multiplayer game. Instead of finding notes, you’ll want to observe the environment and smash vases. Looking at stuff and breaking stuff is what video games are all about, so kudos to For Honor for making this easier for all of us.

Here, we’re covering the first Chapter of the singleplayer campaign, putting you in the iron shoes of the Iron Legion. These noble knights are the protectors of the realm, and the closest thing to a group of “standard” fantasy heroes you’ll get in this Knights vs. Samurai mashup game. Sure, they might be based on the Crusaders (the fan community just loves shouting “DEUS VULT” at every opportunity), but the Knights are your first step into the weird cross-cultural world depicted in For Honor.

Each mission features a number of Observables and Breakables, the two types of collectibles in For Honor. Breakables are, well, things you can break! Usually breakables are a bunch of vases / crates. You don’t need to destroy them all to “collect” a breakable. Destroying just one of the bunch counts. 

Observables are things you can look at — watch for an “eye” icon as you look around the environment. If you focus your camera on it, an [L1 / LB] will appear. Press it to officially observe and “collect” this second type of collectible.

Chapter 1.1 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Observable #1: Defend the East Wall – From the start, turn toward the interior of the castle and look at the keep.
  • Observable #2: Defend the East Wall – Next, look at the soldier on the tower that’s pointing and giving orders. He’s just above the wall where you start. You’ll spot him just going about your day.
  • Observable #3: Defend the East Wall – Look down at the Viking siege equipment (on the right) from your wall position.
  • Observable #4: Defend the East Wall – Still in the same starting area, step onto the raised platform on the wall and turn left toward the fort in the far distance.
  • Observable #5: Defend the East Wall (Defending Wave: 1/3) – Look at the ruined collapsed center of the wall down the steps, but before going back up the steps.
  • Observable #6: Defend the East Wall (Defending Wave: 1/3) – From the partially wrecked wall, look up at the wooden structure built into the stone battlements above. It’s directly above where you entered this section of the wall.
  • Observable #7: Reach the Archers – At the interior, you’ll encounter your first collection of breakables. Observe them (they’re at the base of the spiral stairs, on the left) to get this observable.
  • Breakable #1: Reach the Archers – After observing all the pots and vases, get to smashing! Break the first batch on the left of the stairs.
  • Breakable #2: Reach the Archers – Then bust open the bunch to the right of the spiral stairs.
  • Observable #8: Reach the Archers – Checkout the Lion Statue to the right of the previous observables / breakables in the interior.
  • Breakable #3: Reach the Archers – And the next bunch of breakables are up the stairs past that Lion Statue.
  • Breakable #4: Reach the Archers – The last breakables are to the right as you reach the top of the spiral stairs.
  • Observable #9: Reach the Archers – After smashing the breakables, turn to face the right wall of this optional room and observe the Legion standard.
  • Observable #10: Reach the Archers – Step outside through the nearby doors and look on the right wall. The last observable for this mission is right there.


Chapter 1.2 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Observable #1: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Past the drawbridge, look in the center of the blasted battlefield for a burning pyre.
  • Breakable #1: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – To the right of the first observable, go up the steps onto the stone platform and look right again to spot this bunch of pots.
  • Breakable #2: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Continue up into the tower on the stone platform with the first set of breakables. Inside, look in the back right corner.
  • Observable #2: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Step out onto the wall from the tower interior and immediately look right to check out the Viking horde.
  • Breakable #3: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Move toward the balcony where archers are firing, just across the wall you crossed.  Right next to the catapult power-up.
  • Breakable #4: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – From the archers, take the stairs down, hugging the rocky edge of the map on the right, past the scaffolding tower. Beyond a soldier skirmish, there’s another bunch of pots.
  • Observable #3: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Go down to the main skirmish area. Soldiers from both sides are clashing in the muddy zone beneath a large Eagle statue. Observe the statue.
  • Observable #4: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Check out the huge battering ram near the doors, opposite the Eagle statue.
  • Breakable #5: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Enter the open doorway in the fortress walls to the right of the battering ram. Take the stairs up to the capture zone — there’s a collection of pots to smash within the capture area.
  • Observable #5: Capture the Citadel (2/3 Zones Captured) – Near the capture zone, step out onto the exterior balcony and look up at the walls.

Chapter 1.3 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Breakable #1: Kill the Commander – Right at the start, along the left edge of the dirt road and visible before you run into the first hanging cage Observable.
  • Observable #1: Kill the Commander – On the main path, look up at the iron cage hanging from a tree.
  • Observable #2: Kill the Commander – Continue down the path and look at the cracked ground to view the cooled lava flow outside the enemy camp.
  • Observable #3: Kill the Commander – Near the ledge with the view of lava, there’s a geiser to the left of the path spewing hot water. This is before you reach the bridge to the enemy camp.
  • Observable #4: Reach the Rogue Knights – At the bride, look at the yellow banners to the right of the settlement entrance.
  • Observable #5: Reach the Rogue Knights – Cross the bridge and enter the Viking camp. Above the main path, there’s a wooden skull marking the entrance into the settlement.
  • Breakable #2: Reach the Rogue Knights – Past the bridge and into the settlement, pass the first hut on the right and look in the back-right corner.
  • Breakable #3: Reach the Rogue Knights – Following the linear path down to the well, turn left and look in a dead-end corner for these breakables.
  • Breakable #4: Reach the Rogue Knights – Leaving the settlement through the large gate, look straight ahead before going too deep into the mountain pass.
  • Observable #6: Reach the Rogue Knights – The previous breakables are right below a mossy statue of a woman. Look at the statue to get this collectible.
  • Observable #7: Reach the Rogue Knights – Continuing down the path, you’ll reach a fallen tree only a few steps from the previous observable, directly over the path. Before walking under it, look left for the ruin.
  • Observable #8: Reach the Rogue Knights – Go up the hill to the left after passing under the tree. There’s a large monument at the top.
  • Breakable #4: Reach the Rogue Knights – Found to the left of the Observable #8 monument.
  • Observable #8: Reach the Rogue Knights – Continue past the monument to reach stone stairs. Look up at the mossy ruin above the entranceway to get the last observable.

Chapter 1.4 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Observable #1: Lead Your Troops Into Valkenheim – After completing the tutorial to learn a new move, check out the hill to the left past the skull gate. There’s a grim decoration you can view.
  • Observable #2: Lead Your Troops Into Valkenheim – Instead of looking at the “decoration” on the left, look for the huge statue on the right.
  • Observable #3: Lead Your Troops Into Valkenheim – Push forward to observe the ruins of the wooden hut on the right.
  • Observable #4: Kill the Catapult Crews – Before rushing up to murder the crews, look for a Viking horn.
  • Breakable #1: Kill the Catapult Crews – Take the path down past the horn, and look on the left before crossing the frozen river. There’s a bunch of fragile pots to smash.
  • Observable #5: Kill the Catapult Crews – Cross the cracked ice and look for the giant masked Viking statue head next to the fortified hill.
  • Breakable #2: Kill the Catapult Crews – After killing the first crew, look in the corner to the left of the Catapult to spot a group of pots next to the stairs.
  • Breakable #3: Regroup With Your Army – Outside the massive gates to the Viking stronghold, you’ll cross a hill with the broken parts of a Viking ship. Before reaching the makeshift bridges made out of wood, you’ll encounter three pots.
  • Observable #6: Regroup With Your Army – Look up at the massive bridge line fired by the Knights and stuck into the Viking gates. It’s hard to miss.
  • Observable #7: Reach the Courtyard – Look at the ruined catapult on the right of the path toward the gates.
  • Observable #8: Reach the Courtyard – In the same area, look left and spy on the NPC standing near the red Viking emblem stone.
  • Observable #9: Reach the Courtyard – Lookup at the Viking stronghold’s raised drawbridge to hear more about the Vikings.
  • Observable #10: Reach the Courtyard – Launch the bridge to scale the Viking gates. Part of the way up the bridge, look left and examine the giant statue with a burning flame in its hands.

Chapter 1.5 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Observable #1: Reach the Elevator Outpost – From the forest path, you’ll step down onto a circular stone with a fire in the center, Turn right and get a good view of the statue.
  • Observable #2: Reach the Elevator Outpost –  Down the hill from the statue, look near the ledge for a dead body.
  • Observable #3: Reach the Elevator Outpost – Continue along the zig-zag ramp to the frozen water below. Look at the boats moored on a stone.
  • Observable #4: Reach the Elevator Outpost – Just past the boats, there’s a hanging corpse on the nearby tree.
  • Observable #5: Reach the Elevator Outpost – While looking at the corpse, turn your camera left and examine the dragon-headed front piece of the ruined Viking ship.
  • Breakable #1: Reach the Elevator Outpost – In the area by the wrecked ship, there are a handful of Viking guards. Check a dead-end corner to the right, behind the ruined ship’s hull, and break open the pots.
  • Breakable #2: Reach the Elevator Outpost – Continuing up through the narrow canyon, look for the pots near a power-up.
  • Observable #6: Sabotage the Mechanisms – Before finding the first counterweight, your character will whisper that they’ll need to “be careful here” — up the hill, view the giant stone head carved into the rock.
  • Observable #7: Sabotage the Mechanisms – To the right of the stone face, enter the narrow path to a wooden gate.
  • Breakable #3:  Sabotage the Mechanisms – Opposite the wooden gates, there are pots near the skull statue head.
  • Breakable #4: Sabotage the Mechanisms –  Go up the hill to the right of the skull. There are more pots by the bonfire.
  • Observable #8: Sabotage the Mechanisms – Inside the settlement, take a look at the main dining hall where the Vikings are busy feasting.
  • Breakable #5:  Sabotage the Mechanisms – Past the hall, go onto the small wooden platform on the right to destroy even more pots.
  • Observable #9:  Sabotage the Mechanisms – Enter the main hall through the side door. Just as you enter, look right and observe the Viking machinery.
  • Observable #10:  Sabotage the Mechanisms – In the same interior room, move ahead and keep your eyes to the right side. There’s an interior look into the machinery, with exposed gears, that you can observe.

Chapter 1.6 – Breakables / Observables Locations

  • Observable #1: Release the Ram – From the start of the objective, when the “Protect the Ram” message appears, don’t just sprint forward. Look right and head up the hill path to examine the Viking stone at the top.
  • Observable #2: Release the Ram – Continue toward the gates ahead, sticking to the right edge of the map. Down the hill, look up at the stone tower.
  • Breakable #1: Release the Ram – Ahead of the stone tower observable, there’s a bunch of pots you can smash.
  • Observable #3: Release the Ram – Check out the Viking gatehouse directly above the huge battering ram.
  • Observable #4: Release the Ram – Go down to the ram and check the left side of the big battle. There’s a small ledge where Viking reinforcements drop down to join the fight.
  • Observable #5: Release the Ram – Simply examine the massive ram. It’s impossible to miss.
  • Observable #6: Reach the Inner Gate – In the area that’s raining with Viking fire arrows, look on the small hill to the left of the enemy archer positions. It’s right in your main path.
  • Observable #7:  Reach the Inner Gate – As you enter the courtyard area, turn around to examine your entrance gate.
  • Observable #8:  Reach the Inner Gate – From the gates, turn left and look at the hall door.
  • Breakable #2:  Reach the Inner Gate – Opposite the ruined main gates, head into the open doors and up the stairs. On this upper level, find a collection of breakables ahead.
  • Breakable #3: Reach the Inner Gate – Run past Observable #8 and up the ramp to find more pots on the path that leads to the bridge.
  • Observable #9:  Reach the Inner Gate – Past the skirmish between soldiers, there’s a wooden ramp that drops you into a new combat area. Look at the closed wooden gate with the dual dragon fixture on top.
  • Breakable #4: Reach the Central Hall – When the dual dragon gate is broken open, immediately turn left as you step though the hole. The pots are on a raised stone foundation, next to an ale barrel.
  • Observable #10:  Reach the Inner Gate – Look up at the large hall (that’s currently on fire), up and to the left after passing the previous breakables.
  • Breakable #5:  Reach the Inner Gate –  Look behind the previous observable, near a power-up, for one last collectible of pots.
