Monster Hunter Wilds: How to Perform a Sneak Attack

March 25, 2025 by Matt Villei

Right behind you.

Going toe-to-toe with the creatures of Monster Hunter Wilds is as thrilling as it is dangerous. Players will need every advantage to topple these massive foes. Luckily, there is a way to do big damage before a monster is even aware of you. This is known as the Sneak attack and performing one of these attacks can give you an instant head start in your monster-slaying activities. So, allow me to explain how this attack works and how you can use it to open up any fight. This guide will show players how to perform a Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds.

How to Perform a Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Sneak Attack can be performed on any monster in the game as long as you can get close to it without being detected. This can be made easier by using the Ghillie Mantle, an item that will conceal you while wearing it until you take a hit or attack an enemy. This can be done before you engage the monster or if you are able to get the creature to lose sight of you Once you are sure the monster isn’t engaged with you, get behind it and press the secondary attack button. A prompt will appear that will allow you to perform the Sneak Attack. This will play a unique animation and you will deal big damage to the monster. This will also stagger the creature for a short time, allowing you to do some follow-up attacks. This will allow you to get a decent bit of damage into the enemy before your fight with it officially begins.

You now know how to perform a Sneak Attack in Monster Hunter Wilds. Stay tuned to Gameranx for more news, updates, and guides for Monster Hunter Wilds as well as other great games in the future.
