Redfall is all about vampires, vampire worshipers, and Vampire Gods. There’s a vampire-adjacent thing for every day of the week. So if bloodsuckers are your thing, then Redfall might be right up your alley – providing you mediocre gameplay, outdated visuals, and poor performance, of course.

Within the overarching vampire species, some special vampires come with extra snazzy abilities and quirks. These are more powerful than your standard ghoul, and as a result, they are far more dangerous. We are going to break them all down and give you a rundown of what each of these fanged menaces has to offer.

Vampire

Vampires are your basic undead grunts. These guys are everywhere and are the result of vile human experiments conducted on willing (and unwilling…) subjects. Vampires are immortal and more physically imposing than regular humans, however, they require blood to survive. Despite being vulnerable to UV light, Vampires in Redfall can walk freely during the day thanks to the ‘Eclipse’.

In combat, Vampires are entirely reliant on their claws and teleporting powers. They have no ranged weapons to speak of and are particularly vulnerable to being staggered by kinetic force. Once stunned, a stake through the heart will finish them off for good. Most other vampires are enhanced variations of this basic form.

Angler

Anglers are all about hunting and stealth. They stalk Redfall looking for unwitting prey and launch devastating harpoons to reel in their targets for a quick feed. Anglers are incredibly dangerous. They have the ability to not only incapacitate you, but also to turn invisible. Keep moving and look for their glowing eyes – it reveals their location even when cloaked.

Bloodbag

Bloodbags are an abomination – desperate cultists physically and mentally warped into a walking sack of blood. They serve no purpose other than to be food for Vampires, but their deranged psyche convinces them that they are invaluable to the cause. In combat, Bloodbags will either flee or charge at you. When killed (or when they get too close), Blood bags explode dealing heavy damage.

Shroud

Another stealthy vampire, the Shroud abandons all notion of hunger and instead replaces it with a desire to toy with her prey. As their name implies, Shrouds can envelop their enemies in darkness, robbing them of their sight. Whilst incapacitated, Shrouds will then launch devastating ranged attacks to finish off their disorientated prey. When threatened, Shrouds can phase through the ground and disappear, making them elusive and hard to pin down. They are especially vulnerable to UV light, however, and a quick blast from a Medusa will not only dispel their darkness but also stagger them briefly.

Siphon

Siphons are one of the most dangerous vampires in Redfall. They are possessed by insatiable hunger and have mastered the art of draining blood from their food from a distance. This not only damages their foe, but it also replenishes the Siphon’s health. If left to their own devices, a Siphon can quickly replenish their lost strength, and can even use nearby cultists and Bloodbags in a pinch. Stake Launchers deal massive damage and will interrupt their feeding, so pump them full of wood before they get a chance to react.

Rook

When the Vampire Gods want someone dead, they send the Rook. The Rook is summoned from lightning and can harness this elemental force to great effect. Not only that, but Rook is by far the strongest and most resilient vampire you will meet. The only way to stop Rook is to destroy it, but there will always be another ready to ride the storm and put an end to you. Use everything you can to keep Rook away – Stake Launchers are a great bet.

Watcher

Watchers, like Bloodbags, are not vampires. Instead, they are a cultist who has been turned into something…other. Watchers are immobile sentinels who look for threats whilst perched on high locations. They are very susceptible to bullets and do not need to be staked to be slain. However, if a Watcher spots you, be prepared for a fight as vampires will flock to your location.

Vampire God(s)

The masterminds behind Redfall, and beings of immense power. Each God is different, and to go any further would veer into spoiler territory. In short, these are the bosses of Redfall, and they are very dangerous.

That’s all we have for Redfall for now. Be sure to check out our other guides, lists, and walkthroughs for more Redfall content.
