Alhaitham is the latest Main DPS of Genshin Impact and wow, he is an absolute unit. He is fantastic for Dendro reaction damage, mostly through his Elemental Skill. Using his Skill infuses all of his Normal Attacks with Dendro, so the reactions work well if you’ve applied another Element before using Alhaitham, like Hydro or Electro.
Surprisingly, you don’t have to go far to get some great damage out of Alhaitham. In fact, you don’t have to touch C6. Alhaitham’s best Constellation is C1 – a simple cooldown effect, but it enables you to launch Alhaitham’s Elemental Skill more frequently. If you’re itching to whale a little, C2 is also a good place to stop. But if you just wanted Alhaitham because he’s Dendro Daddy, he works very well at C0.
C1 – Intuition
When a Projection Attack hits an opponent, Alhaitham’s Elemental Skill cooldown decreases by 1.2 seconds. This can be triggered once every second.
Projection Attacks are a part of Alhaitham’s Elemental Skill, which are powered by Chisel-Light Mirrors. This Constellation cuts down on Skill CD by using the Skill. Also, because Alhaitham relies on his Skill for DMG, the lower CD will allow you to do more damage.
C2 – Debate
When Alhaitham generates a Chisel-Light Mirror, his Elemental Mastery increases by 50 for 8 seconds, with a maximum of 4 stacks. The duration for each stack is counted independently. This can be triggered even when the maximum number of Chisel-Light Mirrors has been reached.
This works well when Alhaitham is at or above Ascension 4. His 4th Ascension Passive Talent increases Alhaitham’s Projection Attack and Elemental Burst damage based on his Elemental Mastery. Each EM point grants 0.1% DMG, maxing out at a 100% DMG bonus. You would need 1,000 EM points to get the full 100% bonus…and maybe now it’s possible.
At 4 stacks of 50 EM points, C2 grants Alhaitham up to 200 EM points for 8 seconds. You still have 800 points to make up for, but that’s a huge amount. This also provides a damage increase to the right combat mechanic: Projection Attacks. Alhaitham’s power lies in his Elemental Skill, so anything boosting his Skill is great.
C3 – Negation
Upon activation, Alhaitham’s Elemental Skill – Universality: An Elaboration on Form – gains 3 levels. Its maximum upgrade level becomes 15.
C4 – Elucidation
When using Alhaitham’s Elemental Burst, you’ll receive buffs based on the number of Chisel-Light Mirrors Alhaitham consumes and creates. Each Mirror consumed increases the Elemental Mastery of all nearby party members by 30 for 15 seconds. Each Mirror generated grants Alhaitham a 10% Dendro DMG Bonus for 15 seconds. If you use Alhaitham’s Burst again while these buffs are in effect, then the new Burst will reset the buffs.
Again, you really don’t have to go farther than C2 for Alhaitham. From here, the Constellations increase or add effects to Alhaitham’s Elemental Burst. Though C4 sounds fancy, keep in mind that it’s a limited duration effect and relies on Alhaitham’s least important Combat Talent.
C5 – Sagacity
Upon activation, Alhaitham’s Elemental Burst – Particular Field: Fetters of Phenomena – gains 3 levels. Its maximum upgrade level becomes 15.
C6 – Structuration
C6 makes Alhaitham’s Burst a viable source of damage, but you’ll most likely still rely on his Elemental Skill over his Burst. 2 seconds after using Alhaitham’s Elemental Burst, he will generate 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors. The number of Mirrors he consumes does not apply to this effect.
If Alhaitham generates Chisel-Light Mirrors beyond the maximum 3, his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG will increase by 10% and 70%, respectively, for 6 seconds. If this effect is triggered again during its initial duration, the duration remaining will be increased by 6 seconds.
Breaking this down, C6 plays into the Mirror generation aspect of Alhaitham’s Burst. Instead of Mirror generation relying on the number of Mirrors he consumes while using the Burst, C6 guarantees that Alhaitham will generate 3 Mirrors, regardless of the number of Mirrors he consumes.
This effect also doesn’t nullify the effects of Alhaitham’s Burst, so you could easily get the CRIT bonuses simply because of how the Burst works. For example, let’s say Alhaitham consumes two Mirrors by using his Burst. After 2 seconds, the Burst will generate one Mirror based on its Combat Talent effects. But C6 will generate an additional three Mirrors, bringing the total up to five. That one extra Mirror will trigger the CRIT bonuses.
