March 2022 is in the books, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look back at it fondly! In fact, we SHOULD look back at it fondly because there were some very nice games revealed during that month. Allow us to show you the Best New Games Announced In March. These are not necessarily ranked in any order but instead a collection of games we think are worth keeping tabs on.
#10 PC Building Simulator 2
The original PC Building Simulator had you making your own custom personal computers based upon the parts and styles of versions that were out in the market at the time. And now, PC Building Simulator 2 is coming to take things to the next level.
The description reads as follows:
” Grow your empire as you learn to repair, build and customize PCs at the next level. Experience deeper simulation, an upgraded career mode, and powerful new customisation features. Use realistic parts from 40+ hardware brands to bring your ultimate PC to life.”
Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
#9 Returnal Ascension
When Returnal came out, it was a very unique game that blended elements of roguelike gameplay with very deep stories that are…well let’s not spoil the ending, ok?
But now, Returnal Ascension is out, and it aims to bring both challenge and help to those who are still trying to progress through the game. In this case, Returnal Ascension brings you the ability to have a co-op players with you via an ASTRA Scout. They’ll assist you throughout the game and your experiences.
And if that’s not enough for you, there’s a Challenge Mode where you can really put your skills to the test.
#8 Valkyrie Elysium
” Ragnarok—the End Times—loomed upon the realms. The All-Father, with the last of his strength, created an emissary of redemption; her sole task the salvation of a doomed world.
And thence began the tale of a new Valkyrie…”
Valkyrie Elysium is a new tale from the minds at Square Enix. You know, the crew that have made all the Final Fantasy games and beyond for decades? Yeah, this is one of theirs. While we don’t know too much about the game, we can say that this will be a deep RPG experience set in a fun locale. So hopefully we’ll get details sooner rather than later.
#7 Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
This is a game of “Gods and guns” and that actually sounds like a really fun combination. Here’s a snippet of the game:
“The Door to the Afterlife has been opened, allowing the old God’s army of the undead to escape from within. The living are on the brink of extinction. It’s time for the coalition army to retake their world. Embrace vengeance, gunpowder and magic and embark on an epic journey to lead mankind’s final siege against the tide of the dead.”
The game puts you and a partner character up against gods and monsters, and it’s up to you to wield powerful weapons and magic in an intense combat system that will allow you to survive what is coming.
#6 Guilty Gear -Strive- Testament
Guilty Gear -Strive is easily one of the best fighting games out there on the market right now. Not the least of which is because of Arc Systems Works and their dedication to balance and fun gameplay mechanics.
Just as important though, like other fighting game franchises, they understand the need for bringing in more characters. And just at the end of March, we got the final character for the Season 1 pass in Testament. The characters has long been a part of Guilty Gear, and their addition makes sense.
They’re going to have modified moves naturally, as well as a new orientation that makes the game all the more inclusive.
#5 The Quarry
Horror games have been having a bit of a resurgence if you will in the world of video games and The Quarry is aiming to build up upon what others like “Until Dawn” have done in recent gaming years.
“It’s late summer in the remote forests of upstate New York, and the teen counselors of Hackett’s Quarry have the camp to themselves for one final night. That means no kids, no adults, and no rules. In this thrilling cinematic tale, you control the fates of all nine camp counselors as their party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. With life-or-death decisions around every turn, the choices you make will determine how the story unfolds.”
Intrigue! And you can bet that the many layers of the game will unfold as time goes on!
#4 Fobia St. Dinfna Hotel
Here’s a title that you can play now…in demo form.
Fobia St. Dinfna Hotel is a mystery/exploration/horror game in which you will travel across time in order to figure out the purpose of a hotel’s role in a cult’s plans. Oh, and you just so happen to be part of those plans as well!
You’ll need to keep your mind sharp, as well as your wits about you as you explore the hotel to learn its secrets. As well fight the cult and their monsters as things get darker and stranger.
Will you be able to withstand what is found, and make sure the cult doesn’t win? You’ll find out…
#3 Soundfall
If you’re looking for a game that “has a beat” then Soundfall is one that you’ll want to keep track of. Because in this game you’ll not only be doing a dungeon-crawler and searching for loot, you’ll be fighting to the beat of the music.
The more accurate you are with the music? The better your attacks are. And as you explore this interesting land by yourself or in 4-person co-op you’ll discover unique music-based weapons that will help make the game even more musical for you.
Will you be able to use your musical genius to stop the forces of Discord?
#2 Marauders
Welcome to the Diesel-Punk world of Marauders, where in this game, you are a pirate who must go alone (or with 3 friends) onto the battlefield in order to scavenge and loot. As you get more materials and weapons you’ll be able to build yourself up more to survive the dangers that you face in this first-person tactical shooter.
Just remember, the only way you’ll survive is by…surviving. And that means if you die, the loot you were getting on the level you were on? It’s gone and you have to get it all over again.
Upgrade yourself so you can fight back, and even go into space where you can have intense dogfights with spaceships! The world is waiting to be looted.
#1 Hard West 2
Ready to saddle up, cowboy? We hope so, because Hard West 2 is not a simple title by any means.
You play as an outlaw who feels that they have found the score of the century: the legendary “Ghost Train” that is full of federal gold.
You get a posse of outlaws together and you board the train…only to realize that this is a LITERAL ghost train, and these specters don’t like to be messed with!
Hard West 2 puts you in a very supernatural take on the wild, wild west, and you’ll need to not just use your own abilities to survive, but learn about your posse more so you can use them properly in a fight.
The turn-based combat blends magic, guns, and poker for a unique and fast-moving experience. This is one fight you may not win, cowboy, so be ready.
