2. Halo 5: Guardians
It’s crazy to think that the Halo series has spanned three console generations and led to everything from books, comics and toys to TV shows and even anime shorts. The fight was supposedly finished for Master Chief and Cortana by the end of Halo 3 back in 2007, but in 2012 the two returned once more for another trilogy of games.
Halo 5: Guardians is the first all-new mainline Halo game on the Xbox One, and while it is a continuation of Master Chief’s story it’ll feature a new playable character: Agent Jameson Locke. Locke’s the new protagonist of the upcoming Halo: Nightfall TV series, and will apparently be trying to track down Master Chief for some unknown reason. It’ll be interesting to see where the series goes from Halo 4, and those wanting to get their hands on the game early will be able to do so once the multiplayer beta starts this coming December.
