How To Deal With Security Cameras
Security Cameras are an annoyance, but being seen isn’t the end of the world. There is no penalty for shooting a security camera — as long as nobody sees you do it. If you are spotted, you’ll temporarily void your Silent Assassin rank and take a big rating hit.
Whenever you start a level, it’s important to locate the security room with the camera evidence. Disabling this device will erase evidence and re-enable Silent Assassin. If you’re seen performing a crime by a camera, you’ll permanently take a ratings hit. In summation: shoot cameras with silenced pistols, don’t let them see you do crimes, and erase the evidence if you need to walk through their vision cone.
What Does ‘Silent Assassin’ Mean? And What Counts As An Accident?
What is Silent Assassin? Essentially, Silent Assassin is the challenge you’ll want to complete for every mission. It’s the end goal and the entire point of Hitman — it isn’t enough to just kill your target, you need to enter the mission area and eliminate the target (and only the target) via an accidental kill, or a stealth kill that is never discovered. Accidents are unique, because accidental kills can be witnessed without voiding your Silent Assassin rank.
What are accidents? Poisoning a target, blasting the wheels off a race car, or pushing a target so it looks like they fell to their death. Luring a target into a puddle and tossing a live battery? That’s an accident as long as nobody sees you do the deed. There are tons of accidents just waiting to happen in every level, and it’s your job to find them.
