Journey To The Savage Planet: How To Get The Stomp Booster | Final Traversal Power Guide

January 30, 2020 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Don’t know how to bust through cracked floors? You need the Stomp Booster. Here’s where to find it.

Do battle with a pair of angry Slamphibians to unlock this upgrade.

The final traversal power you can unlock in Journey To The Savage Planet is pretty useful. Not only is it definitely required if you want to discover all the secrets of this very weird planet, but you’ll also need it to enter the final crystal tower in the Elevated Realm. The Stomp Booster allows you to smash through the cracked circular alien vaults that are found all over the world. Usually they’re hiding some of the best collectibles.

Getting it isn’t too tricky, but you’ll need to reach Elevated Realm at the very top of the tower. That’s the third region, and this final upgrade is only available if you explore deep enough into the region, or scan any cracked floor circle in the world. If you haven’t been looking around carefully, they’re actually pretty easy to miss.

The Stomp Booster is not required to activate the tower’s core. You’ll need it to find many of the secrets around AR-Y 26, and to access the second crystal tower in the Elevated Realm.

To get it, start from the Pillars of Xzorgana teleporter. That’s one of the teleporters you’ll cross while completing the Shock Fruit mission. Instead of jumping to the shock fruit island, use the grapple points to swing over to the island that’s high above with red plants.

This is where you’ll enter the Eternal Tears of T’bo. Crawl into the vertical shaft cave ahead, and climb to the top of the waterfall. You’ll find a teleporter ahead once you reach the top. You’ll need to navigate inside and outside the cave to reach the top of this cliff.

Past the teleporter, you’ll find a large area with red gunk and a new enemy — the Slamphibian! Jump down to enter the Depths of Fnndddkkertt and begin the fight.

To defeat the Slamphibian, shoot the two weak points on its back, then wait until it reveals the final weak point in its mouth. You’ll get a chance after it uses several ground blasts that appear in random spots — after it uses that attack, it will beat its chest for several seconds. When it jumps, use Triple Thruster to stay mid-air and dodge the shockwave.

After defeating the first Slamphibian, a second harder Slamphibian will spawn. Destroy it, and an alien wall will crumble to reveal the secret shrine with this optional ability’s rare ingredient. Extract it and you can return to your ship to 3D Print the Stomp Booster.

The Stomp Booster gives you a ground-pound ability that can smash through cracked alien floors. They’re all over the planet, and they’re required to collect some of the best collectibles.
