Sirfetch’d is one of the coolest new evolutions in Pokémon Sword & Shield, turning the humble Farfetch’d into a proud knight of the Galar Region. But, he also has one of the trickiest evolution methods. After catching this leek-wielding duck, you’ll need to score three critical attacks in the same battle. Critical attacks aren’t exactly common, and it’s just as likely you’ll kill your opponent first.
Here, I’m going to break down everything you need to know about evolving Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d — and how to make it super easy. If you get the right items and fight the right enemies, you can turn Farfetch’d into Sirfetch’d in no time flat. One battle is all you need — but you’ll have to farm for a very specific item.
Sirfetch’d and Galarian Form Farfetch’d are only available in Pokémon Sword. You’ll have to trade to get Galarian Form Farfetch’d if you only own Pokémon Shield.

How To Evolve Farfetch’d Into Sirfetch’d | Easy Crits Guide
To begin this evolution, you’ll need to catch Farfetch’d first. Farfetch’d can be found on Route 5 or Giant’s Mirror. There are two kinds of Farfetch’d — make sure to catch Galarian Form Farfetch’d! That’s the only one that can evolve.
After catching a Farfetch’d, you’ll need to score three critical hits in the same battle to get them to evolve into Sirfetch’d. To improve your crit chances, you’ll need to farm Farfetch’d until you get a Leek item. Farfetch’d are located on Route 5 or Giant’s Mirror in Pokémon Sword. Just keep fighting them until you get the drop!
Regular Farfetch’d have a 5% chance of dropping a Leek item, while Galarian Form Farfetch’d have a 50% chance. The Leek, when equipped by Farfetch’d, doubles his crit rate. Give it to Farfetch’d as a Hold Item once you get it!
Now, you’ll need to choose a tough Pokémon that can actually survive three crits. Go out and hunt down Flying, Psychic, or Fairy type Pokémon. You can find flying types in Route 3, or Psychic Wobuffet in Route 5. The Wild Area is a great place to go looking for any number of Pokémon. Just find a type that can withstand your attacks, equip Farfetch’d with a Leek, and go to town — you’ll evolve in no time.
