Call of Duty: Modern Warfare wants you to slow down. The insane speed of previous games has been toned done considerably, forcing you to move tactically instead of sprinting around like a complete madman. Death comes faster than before while everything else (movement, aiming, etc) are sluggish in comparison to the old days. This is a completely new Call of Duty and if you want to succeed, you’ll need to adapt.
One of the most important skills you need to learn is patience. There are two levels of sprint, and both can put you into a very bad situation if you don’t use them carefully. The new Mount feature lets you carefully look around corners, but leaves you but exposed to flankers looking for easy kills. Tacticals can be thrown faster than ever, but guns don’t aim so quick anymore. You’ll need teamwork (and a good set of headphones) to crush in multiplayer. Here’s our quick tips.

Increase Sensitivity — TTK Is So Fast, You Want To Spot & Shoot First
TTK (Time To Kill) is incredibly fast in COD:MW. Keep practicing with higher and higher sensitivity so you can spot and shoot enemies before they do the same to you. It’s all about getting off those shots first. Headshots don’t matter. Just aim for the chest first.
Use Headphones And Listen For Footsteps
Footsteps are really loud in COD:MW. You can use them to easily listen for enemies behind walls or coming at you from around corners. It helps to use headphones so you can really focus on the sound. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to spot with sound alone.
Dead Silence Is An Amazing Upgrade (Now That It’s Fixed)
Because footstep spotting is so important, Dead Silence is even more useful. It’s relegated to the Field Upgrades, so you’ll only be able to unleash it for short bursts. Save it for busy areas, and you can easily get the drop on enemies in interiors.
Use Mount When You Know Danger Is Around The Corner
Covering advantageous lanes on the maps is really important, and using mount at the right time can make you practically invincible. At the right angle, you can camp and hold a lane easily. Just don’t over-use mount — flashbangs, concussions, and flankers can catch you.
Bring UAVs Or Counter-UAVs To Spot Enemies
Footsteps are great, but most players on your team still ignore listening and focus on the minimap. If you’re all about the minimap, equip a UAV scorestreak and unleash it whenever you can. If you don’t want to use a UAV, use Counter-UAVs to stop the enemy team. It’s shockingly how denying your opponents info makes them play so much worse.
