Devil May Cry 5
- Developer: Capcom
- Publisher: Capcom
- Platforms: PC, XBO
- Release: 2019
What is being called as the true sequel to Devil May Cry 4, players will soon receive the Devil May Cry 5 in 2019. The video game stars Nero who was the protagonist in Devil May Cry 4 and from the footage shown off during E3 2018, we can expect plenty of fluid high-speed action.
There haven’t been too many details released regarding the game so far, but Capcom did unveil some story premise in a press release. After years have passed since the legions of hell step foot in the world, a new demonic invasion is starting. Players will once again have to fight off the various demons and save humanity.
Currently, the game is slated to launch at some point in Spring of 2019 so we imagine new information regarding the mechanics and storyline will be revealed in the coming months.
Gears of War 5
- Developer: The Coalition
- Publisher: Microsoft Studios
- Platforms: PC, XBO
- Release: 2019
Gears of War 5 was officially revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. The video game follows Kait Diaz as she begins a new journey to cross Sera and unveil the truth to the Locust origins but there appear to be bigger and deeper meanings behind her journey.
This still seems to be the intense action-packed third-person title we’ve come to know and love from the Gears series so the real question at this point is what is The Coalition bringing on with this next installment. From more enemy creatures to high impact weapons, there never seems to be a limit to where Gears of War will take the action sequence moments for gamers to enjoy.
Likewise, because the release window only states that the game is launching in 2019, developers have plenty of time to work with before revealing new details.
Borderlands 3
- Developer: Gearbox Software
- Publisher: 2K Games
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: September 13, 2019
Borderlands is a successful video game franchise though despite having a following, we haven’t had a third main installment since Borderlands 2 launched in 2012. However, in a surprise announcement during PAX East, we got the announcement of Borderlands 3 which is slated to launch in September of this year. We haven’t got too many details about the game at the moment, but apparently, this time around there will be four new vault hunters and two cult leader antagonists to deal with. This game is likely going to have plenty of information roll out during E3 of this year but so far the trailer footage revealed so far looks to be the traditional gameplay we’ve come to know and love from the franchise which meaning there is plenty of over-the-top action and gun play.
Halo: Infinite
- Developer: 343 Industries
- Publisher: Microsoft
- Platforms: PC, XBO
- Release: TBD
We really can’t go into too much detail about Halo: Infinite as there hasn’t been really any information released so far about the game. This will be the next major installment to the Halo franchise which will continue the story for Master Chief. A small teaser was released during E3 2018 and since then the development team over at 343 Industries have yet to give any information regarding just what gamers can expect. Instead, players should prepare for more Master Chief and perhaps another encounter against Cortana but that’s purely speculative. At any rate, we’re hoping that more information about the upcoming Halo title will be revealed during E3 this year so stay tuned for future updates.
We’re sure that you’re familiar with the Halo franchise as its one of the biggest Microsoft exclusives since the early days of the original Xbox. This series puts players into an action-adventure narrative where players are often fighting against the odds through various alien invasions. Halo 5: Guardians did set us up to potentially see Master Chief having to deal with his once-trusty companion Cortana. However, at this point, we don’t know what exactly the narrative will be or any changes 343 Industries is bringing to the upcoming installment.
Doom Eternal
- Developer: id Software
- Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
- Platforms: PC, XBO, PS4
- Release: 2019
When Doom first got its reboot in 2016, the game became a massive hit. Players were once again thrown into the shoes of Doom Guy as he battles demons in Hell. The game was over-the-top action packed and made it seem that the protagonist could handle any demon that came his way. Now thanks to the Bethesda E3 2019 press conference we know that a sequel is in the works.
The video game will follow the events of the first title where it seems that Hell has arrived on Earth. Doom Guy will once again have to blast away countless demons in order to save humanity from the brink of destruction. Gameplay has shown the protagonist fighting off a slew of demonic monsters that have ran rampant across the city. There doesn’t seem to be really any significant change to the gameplay mechanics from the Doom reboot so we fully expect the same over-the-top action-packed and intense quality of gameplay to show up for the sequel.
