A quick guide on how to unlock the brand new Red Mage and Samurai jobs in the latest Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Stormblood.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Jobs Red Mage Samurai

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is the latest chapter for the incredibly popular MMORPG series and features two new jobs — the Red Mage and the Samurai. This time around you can unlock these new jobs immediately upon logging in, provided you have a level 50 character and complete a very short quest chain for each. Read below to get started!

Unlock Red Mage

You must have Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and a level 50 character.

  • Head to the Steps of Thal section of Ul’dah.
  • Speak to the Distressed Lass just east of the Gate of Thal exit to begin the Red Mage quest.
  • While on the quest go through the Gate of Thal and head west until you run into a Well-dressed Lass.
  • Speak to the Well-dressed Lass and then to the Red-garbed Traveler standing next to her.
  • Backtrack through the Gate of Thal to the Steps of section of Ul’Dah.
  • Speak to the Distressed Lass to turn in the quest.
  • Teleport or walk to Black Brush Station and head inside Coffer & Coffin.
  • Once inside speak to X’rhun Tia to complete the quest and become a Red Mage.
  • Speak to X’rhun Tia again to begin your Level 50 Red Mage quest and begin adventuring!

Red Mages certainly have a flair for the dramatic.

Unlock Samurai

You must have Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and a level 50 character.

  • Head to the main teleport crystal in Ul’dah and look southeast.
  • Speak to the Ul’dahn Citizen standing in the middle of the street to begin the Samurai quest.
  • Go to the Gladiator Guild and speak to the Silver-tongued Showmaste in the arena.
  • He will send you to the Far Eastern Elder who is also located in the Gladiator Guild.
  • Complete the dialog with him to become a Samurai.
  • Speak to him again to begin your Level 50 Samurai quest and begin adventuring!

Samurais may not be as flashy as the Red Mage but wielding a katana never gets old.
