FFXIV Stormblood Director Apologizes for Server’s Failure During Expansion’s Launch

Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood expansion released a couple of days ago, and as usual for any game that receives a highly anticipated expansion, the game experienced a huge increase in players which lead to some server and connectivity issues.

FFXIV Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida went to the game’s official website to apologise to the fans. He also released a list of the most congested worlds currently, which you can see below.

Japan Data Center
Tonberry
Bahamut

North America Data Center
Balmung
Gilgamesh
Leviathan

Europe Data Center
Ragnarok
Odin
Cerberus
Moogle
Shiva

The apology included some of the studio’s plans to solve the issue, and they are working on increasing the Worlds’ capacity.

We are continuing to assess and work on ways we can increase the number of players that are able to log in without the World crashing. However, as this requires extremely precise adjustments, we currently need a bit more time.

I am terribly sorry, but since we also have New World and World Population Balancing Incentives at the moment, we would also appreciate if you could please consider using the World Transfer service.
