Persona 5 Receives New English “Sizzle” Trailer; Showcases Story, Gameplay, and More

March 6, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

The countdown can begin!

With Persona 5 only a month away from releasing in the West for Ps4 and PS3, Deep Silver and Atlus has released a new English trailer for fans of the series.

The trailer shows players a glimpse of what to expect in Persona 5, including mini-games, dungeon gameplay, and the main characters. The latest installment has already launched in Japan, leaving other countries with counting down the days until the game finally releases.

Watch the new trailer down below:

Check out the official overview of the game down below:

Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled youth who live dual lives. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high-schooler – attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people.

Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self;” the game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

We recently saw that our creepy friend, Igor, will be making a return as well; in addition to two brand new characters — Caroline and Justine. The Velvet Room has taken a new approach and will now be themed around a prison.

Persona 5 launched late last year in Japan for PS4 and PS3, and now we’re slowly approaching the release in the US, which is scheduled for April 4.
