Insomniac Games might not be developing Sony-exclusive games anymore; what with them shacking up with EA in the publisher's EA Partners Program. But could more Ratchet & Clank games be in the horizon after Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault?
What's worrying is that a representative for the studio told Eurogamer that "Moving forward, we are only working on IP that we own."
Ratchet & Clank is, of course, wholly owned by Sony. So does this mean Full Frontal will be the last one in the franchise? While Insomniac CEO Ted Price didn't answer that, he did share that interest in the franchise certiainly hasn't wanted and they have a lot of fun making 'em.
We never know exactly how or when interest will wane in any particular franchise that we do. So far interest certainly hasn't waned in Ratchet…And for us it's still an incredibly fun franchise to build.
That could only be a good thing, right? Price was also asked if the later Ratchet & Clank games have been just as successful as the early ones.
"They're doing really well," Price states; though he does admit teh industry is so different now compared to when they first started building the Ratchet games that the challenge is how do you equate that success now.
Well, while the studio might be busy with Fuse and Outernauts for Facebook, I can't imagine them not going back to the franchise that put them on the map at some point or another, no?
