343 Industries has put together a video documentary detailing the development of Halo 4's multiplayer offerings, which includes classic modes like "Capture the Flag" and "Oddball" in addition to the newly announced "Grifball" mode, the details of which debuted alongside a new multiplayer map called Exile, which we previously wrote about.
Exile's setting is described as follows:
"Miraculously, the survivors of the UNSC Diadochi’s violent crash managed to not only recover provisions from the vessel’s debris field, but also use it as a makeshift shelter for several years. When rescue and recovery teams finally arrived, they were surprised to discover a healthy, burgeoning community thriving within the ship’s remains. Now this wreckage serves as a battleground in War Games. ‘Exile’ is an earthy, circular canyon bed interconnected by a network of caves and favoring fast-paced vehicle combat, while still offering frantic, on-foot action."
The video feature, titled "Making Halo 4: A Hero Awakens" covers what went into the development of Halo 4 can be viewed at the Halo Waypoint website, but you'll need to install Microsoft Silverlight to view it. The first part of the feature goes in-depth into how Master Chief and Cortana are being brought back into Halo 4.
Finally, the 343 Industries panel at PAX Prime can be found here.
Halo 4 is set for launch on November 6 exclusively on the Xbox 360.
