Following the tragic death of Star Wars star Carrie Fisher, Elite Dangerous players request that a Carrie Fisher memorial gets added to the game. Developers responded with the addition of a Fisher Outpost.
A producer for Elite: Dangerous responded to the community’s request, writing in the game’s forums, “Sad news indeed–a ‘Fisher’s Rest’ outpost will be added to the game in the 2.3 release.” This post was spotted this week by DualShockers.
This won’t be the first time that Elite: Dangerous has memorialized a sci-fi star. In 2015, developer Frontier created a Vulcan planet and a “Leonard Nimoy Station” to honor the late Star Trek actor.
Star Wars: Old Republic fans have also called for a memorial, but it has been denied as the game is set thousands of years before Princess Leia was born.
