Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 is getting updated with the addition of Kuma and Panda, veteran characters from the Tekken series. According to an official press release, there will also be a new online tournament mode introduced, which will allow players to brawl it out with seven other competitors.
Some of the tournament mode’s features include spectator mode, single and double elimination options, and password secured tournament entry. When the tournament concludes, players have the chance to win in-game content such as fight money.
Kuma and Panda aren’t the only new characters revealed for Tekken 7, but their motivations for returning are similar:
As Heihachi Mishima’s pet, Kuma joins his master into the Tekken Force. He proves his unfailing loyalty by trying to protect the Mishima Zaibatsu while he was believing his master was dead. Defeated by Jin Kazama, he finally found Heihachi again and became one of the most essential member of the Tekken Force.
Panda is Ling Xiaoyu’s pet and bodyguard. After the disappearance of Jin Kazama, Xiaoyu set out to find him, totally ignoring the dangers it involved. Worrying for his master as she never returned from her journey, Panda ran after her to bring her to her senses.
Tekken 7 is due for release worldwide early next year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Japanese version originally released back in 2015.
