EA just had their annual earnings conference call earlier in the day; and the publisher has revealed that a few of their upcoming franchises have already outpaced their predecessors when it comes to pre-orders.
The publisher has revealed that pre-sells on Dead Space 3 are tracking almost five-times higher than Dead Space 2 in the same timeframe in 2010. EA firmly believes that this significant boost is bolstered by the franchise's new co-op gameplay feature that's attracting a "lot of attention and a broader audience."
In addition to that, Crytek's Crysis 3 pre-orders are also seeing a significant spike compared to Crysis 2. EA has revealed that the upcoming Frankfurt-developed shooter's pre-orders are roughly three-times what they were for Crysis 2 at this time in 2010.
Lastly, even their yearly Madden football sim has seen a significant surge in its pre-orders as Madden 13 pre-sells are up 25 percent versus last year's version. The publisher also adds that purchase intent for the game based on weekly Nielsen surveys are also up significantly.
I just hope this doesn't mean that they'll rush the inevitable Dead Space 4 and Crysis 4 to the market. Of course, a yearly iteration for Madden is to be expected as it is a sports-sim.
Are you happy that these games are tracking so well when it comes to pre-orders or would you want something different on your dinner plate?
