SEGA Releases Aliens: Colonial Marines’ Developer Diary

July 31, 2012 by Alex Co

SEGA has released a new video for Aliens: Colonial Marines and it shows the Gearbox staff talking about the game and its design process.

SEGA has released a new trailer for Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines but it doesn't show that much new gameplay. Instead, it focuses more on the development team and their thought process in making the game.

While I admit, the lack of new gameplay footage is a bit disappointing, we do get to see art assets and hear the Gearbox guys talk about their upcoming game. One thing we keep on hearing again and again is how Aliens: Colonial Marines' story is directly related to the main Alien movies.

Hopefully, the story holds up even without the involvement of movie protagonist Ripley.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has been in development limbo for quite some time now, let's just hope Gearbox can make it work as I'd love a good Aliens game that wasn't based on the Aliens vs. Predator universe.

The game's scheduled for release on the February 12, 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii U. However, the Wii U version still doesn't have a firm release date yet.

Are you excited to take down xenomorphs? Is there a good Aliens game that didn't involve the Predator at all?
