One of the latest PS4 titles to receive an upgrade patch for Playstation Pro is the Batman: Return to Arkham bundle, which contains remastered versions of both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
A recent video comparison demonstrated that Arkham City runs faster and at a more consistent framerate on PS4 versus Xbox One, but the same cannot be said for the PS4 Pro upgrade. One small but conspicuous benefit of the upgrade is that Arkham City does run faster on PS4 Pro (31% faster to be exact), but has no resolution or effects improvements, and does not offer a tight lock on 60fps for the entire duration of the game.
Unlike Arkham City, which is designed to run with an unlocked frame rate with a 60fps cap, Arkham Asylum is restricted to a 30fps cap. A test playthrough by Eurogamer pointed out that it was an almost ‘identical experience’ using PS4 Pro compared to base hardware.
