BlizzCon 2016 is almost upon us, and all signs point to the announcement of a new Diablo 3 expansion. Today’s latest tease includes a piece of artwork, now removed, from the Blizzard Gear Store.
The art shows a pair of characters who appear to be a male and female necromancer commanding an army of the undead. The art’s filename was “necromancer,” which makes it even more obvious.
The Necromancer was previously a character class in Diablo 2, and it is also represented in Heroes of the Storm with the character Xul. So far, we’ve only ever seen male necromancers, so the addition of a female more or less confirms that it will be a Diablo 3 class, as every character class in the game is available in both genders.
There’s also a possibility that Diablo 4 will be announced, rather than a Diablo 3 expansion. Either way, we’re pretty excited about it.
