Rollin' around at the speed of sound… Sonic Adventure 2 must have had one of the very best opening moments in gaming history when it first launched back in 2001. From Sonic jumping from a helicoptor to speeding through a massive, action-packed level, I think it's fair to say that City Escape set the standard for 3D Sonic at the time and the rest of the game wasn't all bad either.
Prepare to relive it all, when Sonic Adventure 2 hits digital platforms at the end of the year. Currently only XLBA and PSN have been announced, but I think it's fair to say that at the very least the game will be available on Steam as well, probably other PC digital distribution services on top of that.
Outside of confirmation of its existence, not much has been said, although there have been rumours about a HD polish-up, online leaderboards and the return of offline mutliplayer (as seen in battle). If that last point turns out to be true, you might need to pay for a "battle" upgrade to get the full experience, but we'll wait for more information to be revealed between now and Fall 2012.
