"Who has two thumbs and is getting a videogame coming out next year? This guy!" — Deadpool at the Marvel Games panel at SDCC.
The beloved comic book character Deadpool will finally be getting a game of his very own after long having been a staple of other Marvel videogames like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and the latest Marvel vs Capcom title.
As implied by the quote above the fold, the red-suited character made a splash appearance at the Marvel Games panel to announce his new game, which is currently in development at High Moon Studios for Activision.
Word of the game's development first surfaced a few days ago when chatter at SDCC suggested that there would be a surprise announcement involving Deadpool. The rumor was later validated when game journalists who were treated with an private showing of the game by Activision tweeted snippets of what they'd seen without disclosing too much.
Today, a bunch of poster ads were propped up at SDCC to promote the game's official website, which ran a countdown timer which just ended a few minutes ago. The site is currently being bombarded with requests, so bear with it.
Anyway, just watch the trailer below. It's got Nolan North as the voice of Deadpool. That should be enough to interest you.
